Solomon Islands

Solomon Islands is a sovereign country consisting of a large number of islands in Oceania lying to the east of Papua New Guinea and northwest of Vanuatu and covering a land area of 28,400 square kilometres (11,000 sq mi). The country's capital, Honiara, is located on the island of Guadalcanal. Solomon Islands should not be confused with the Solomon Islands archipelago, which is a collection of Melanesianislands that includes Solomon Islands and Bougainville Island.
The islands have been inhabited for thousands of years. In 1568, the Spanish navigator Álvaro de Mendaña was the first European to visit them, naming them the Islas Salomón.[3] By 1893, the United Kingdom had established a protectorate over what was then known as "the Solomon Islands". During the Second World War, the Solomon Islands campaign (1942–1945) saw fierce fighting between the United States and theEmpire of Japan, such as in the Battle of Guadalcanal.

The Irish Sky Garden Crater

Located at the Liss Ard Estate Gardens in Cork County, Ireland; the James Turrell Irish Sky Garden Crater is an amazing sculptural land art installation by famed artist James Turrell. The Irish Sky Garden Crater is open from April to November and measures about 25 meters (82 ft) in length, dipping almost 13 meters (42ft) at it’s lowest depth.
The man-made hollow is accessed via a dark concrete tunnel flanked by Liscannor stone, featuring a white marble stone that reflects the light from the rim of the crater during the day. The design is based on a birthing scenario, where visitors walk through the dark tunnel into the light. “It’s about rebirth and optimism, its experiential and it nurtures the desire to walk towards the light [into the crater]. It evokes powerful reactions in people,” says Arthur Little, the manager of Liss Ard estate.

Valley of the Mills, Italy

Loved this cute unexpected valley of the mills in Sorrento Italy. First of all you're walking on a beautiful little town and all of the sudden there's a drop on your left (if you're heading towards the main plaza, you could say) and you see this hidden treasure all the way at the bottom of the rocky mountains around it. From what I've read, because I just found it to fascinating to let it go 3 years ago...it was a water mill, not a grain mill.

Frozen Lake, Finland

ce roads (ice crossingsice bridges) are frozen, human-made structures on the surface of bays, rivers, lakes, or seas in polar regions.Because ice roads are flat, devoid of trees, rocks and other obstacles, they have a smooth driving surface. They are largely plowed across frozen lakes, with a short overland portage between the shoreline of one lake and the next.

Golden Temple, Amritsar, Punjab, (INDIA)

Amritsar is synonymous with the Golden Temple, the most revered shrine of the Sikhs. However, this holy place is visited by people of different religious backgrounds. The term Amritsar is derived from two words; 'amrit' meaning nectar of immortality and sarovar meaning pool. Amritsar has several Sikh pilgrimages. Amritsar is the administrative headquarters of the Amritsar district of the state of Punjab. Amritsar holds sheer religious importance for the Hindus also as it is believed that it was the place where Goddess Sita, the consort of Lord Rama, gave birth to twins Lava and Kusha.
